Joseph William Schipf II

Joseph William Schipf II, 81 of Montpelier, VA, passed away on April 10, 2025. He was born on March 8, 1944 in New Rochelle, NY.

Joseph leaves behind a legacy that will remain etched in the hearts of his family and many friends forever.

Joseph’s life was a testament to service and dedication. He served with distinction in the US Army, where he was a valued member of the Honor Guard, and his commitment to helping others was evident during his time with the Washington DC Police. Always striving to make a difference, Joseph went on to found Commonwealth X-Ray, a company that reflects his tireless work ethic and innovative spirit.

Beyond his professional achievements, Joseph was a man who cherished the simple joys of life. He found solace in the great outdoors, where he loved hunting, fishing, and farming. His affection for animals was profound, and his nurturing care for them underscored his compassionate nature.

Joseph was much beloved by his family, who will remember him as a pillar of strength and an endless source of love. He is survived by his wife, Cynthia Mastin, his daughter, Jennifer Schipf, his stepdaughters, Kimberly Hicks and Elizabeth Coppa and his grandchildren/great grandchildren. Their grief is profound, but so, too, is their gratitude for the time they shared with such an extraordinary man.

As we bid farewell to Joseph William Schipf II, we celebrate the remarkable life he led, one marked by service, love, and unwavering dedication to those he held dear. His memory will continue to inspire and guide us, for he was, and always will be, a beacon of light and love. Rest in peace, dear Joseph. You will be greatly missed but never forgotten.
