Robert Hunter Lanier, Jr. (“Bubba”)

Robert Hunter Lanier, Jr. (“Bubba”), a beloved father, brother, uncle, and grandfather, passed away peacefully on August 14th, 2025,  at the age of 65. He is survived by his son Robert Hunter Lanier, III, 5 grandchildren, sisters Charlene Sheets (Dale), Bettie Edwards (Paul), Marty Slaughter (Matt) and six nieces and nephews.

 

Bubba was a native of Highland Spring, Virginia and a retired carpenter. He will be remembered for his love of telling stories, laughter, and love for his family. In his quiet moments, he found joy in freshwater fishing, a favorite pastime that brought him peace. Whether on the banks of a river or by the edge of a quiet lake, he was most at home with a rod in hand and the sun on his shoulders.

 

A private celebration of life will be held by the family at a later date.
