Bruce Boyajian

 

Bruce Vartan Boyajian, 71, of Moseley, Virgina, passed away peacefully at home on December 10, 2025.

 

Bruce was born on March 23, 1954 to Florence and Vahan Boyajian in Philadelphia, PA. After graduating from John F. Kennedy High School in 1972, Bruce pursued his lifelong passion for photography and built a remarkable career as a freelance photographer. He photographed some of the most notable figures of his time, including world-famous boxers, U.S. presidents, celebrated musicians, and other distinguished personalities. Bruce proudly served as the official photographer for the Miss America Pageant for 45 years and for the Kennedy Center Honors, and his work appeared in the Associated Press, The New York Times, and other major publications. He also shared his talent with Sloan’s Auction Gallery, Quinn’s Auction Gallery, and Freeman’s Auction House as their Director of Photography, bringing artistry and precision to every image. Photography was not just Bruce’s profession; it was his joy, and through it, he touched countless lives and preserved unforgettable moments.

 

In addition to his photography career, Bruce was an avid music lover, often filling his home with the sounds of classic rock and jazz while he worked on his images. When he was not working, Bruce cherished spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, and his beloved dog, Parker. He cared deeply for his community and was well known and loved by many. Bruce was a devoted son, husband, father, grandfather, and friend, and he will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

 

Bruce is survived by his wife, Lalaine; his first wife, Nvart; his daughters, Katia and Victoria; his grandchildren, Wesley, Tristan, Emilia, and Julian; his mother, Florence; and his sister, Cindy. He was preceded in death by his father, Vahan, and his sister, Janice.

 

A memorial service will be held on December 29, 2025 at 10:30am at Holy Trinity Armenian Church, 101 Ashmead Road, Cheltenham, PA 19012.
