Mary Elizabeth Poole

Mary Elizabeth Poole, age 54, passed away on December 9, 2025.

 

She was a beloved mother, daughter, sister, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Mary is survived by her mother, Donna Eller; her daughters, Elizabeth Poole and Gracie Johnson; her son, Jack Wharton; and her first granddaughter, Harlow. She is also survived by her brother, Richard Poole (Colleen) of Pittsburgh, PA; her twin brother, Mike Poole of Brunswick, MD; and her sister, Tina Hostetler of Lehigh Acres, FL.

 She was preceded in death by her father, Ernest Poole, and her brother, Rick Poole.

 

Mary was born on January 7, 1971, in Hagerstown, Maryland, and was raised in Keedysville, Maryland, where she spent her formative years. She later moved to Virginia in 1987.

 

A devoted mother, Mary cherished time spent with her family, especially her children. She loved the beach and had a passion for cooking and baking.

 

Mary worked at the Hanover Country Store, where she truly never met a stranger. She loved her coworkers and customers like family, and in her spare time could often be found at the store creating a new recipe or simply making people smile.

 

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Details regarding the date and time will be announced.
