Curtis Allen Martin

Curtis Allen Martin, 64, passed away on April 18, 2026. Born on July 11, 1961, Curtis lived a life defined by loyalty, hard work and a genuine love for people and animals alike.

Curtis was preceded in death by his mother, Jo Ann Arnette; his father, Winston Martin; his stepfather, Don Arnette; and his brother, Hill Arnette.

He is survived by his brothers, Roy Arnette (Stephanie) and Andrew Arnette (Linda). Curtis also became cherished family through friendship to Shelly McCeney and her son, Joshua Seay, who held a special place in his heart as his young buddy.

A proud veteran, Curtis served in the United States Navy as an E5 Sonar Technician aboard the USS Donald B. Beary in Norfolk, Virginia. His service included work in underwater fire control and sonar, and he was honored with the Navy Expeditionary Medal for his dedication.

Curtis had a deep love for animals and leaves behind his three beloved dogs – Sherlock, Gunther, and Maggie – who were constant companions and brought him great joy.

He was also passionate about go-kart racing, spending countless weekends at local tracks. Whether racing or working on his kart, Curtis found happiness in the sport and built lasting friendships along the way.

Known throughout the Beaverdam community and surrounding areas, Curtis was always willing to lend a helping hand. Whether fixing something around the house or simply showing up when someone needed him, he made a lasting impact on all who knew him.

He will be deeply missed. A celebration of his life will be announced at a later date.
