Sharon Lynn Acton
Sharon Lynn Acton, 57, of Richmond, Virginia, went to be with the Lord & Savior on July 26th, 2026.
She passed away peacefully in her sleep, surrounded by her loved ones.
She is preceded in death by her Mother & Father, Emma Louise Jenkins, and Robert Jenkins, Sister Cindy, and niece Sarah Hicks.
Sharon was, above all else, a deeply devoted mother and “Nannie” whose life was defined by her tireless dedication to providing for her family. Facing every challenge head-on, she did whatever it took to ensure her daughters were protected, supported, and cared for. A woman of strong mind and unbreakable convictions, Sharon held firm opinions, spoke her truth clearly, and lived life entirely on her own terms with a fiercely independent spirit.

She held a profound and unique appreciation for chosen bonds. She understood deeply that family is defined by loyalty and love, not just blood.
She drew her inner circle closely, and the friends she intentionally selected became her true, lifelong family. Her unyielding strength, resilience, and fierce dedication live on in the family she sacrificed so much to build, as those traits can be easily observed in her daughters, and their children.
Sharon is survived by her loving and devoted partner of 30yrs, Charles Herring. Her legacy and strength continue through her four daughters, Jennifer Gleason, Mariah Sites (Acton), Chelsey Herring, and Emma Herring. She fiercely cherished her title and role as “Nannie” to her beloved grandchildren, Bentley, and Liam (Sites), Jacob (Coyle), McKenzie (Harris), Harley, and Willow (King). She is also lovingly survived by her sisters, Mary Downey, and Shirley Lowry.
Family will allow friends for a memorial service on August 3rd, 12pm, @ Richmond Coach & Cremation,
