Dennis Michael Colby Jr.

Dennis Michael Colby Jr., 60, of Bracey, Virginia, passed away on September 25, 2026. He was born on February 12, 1966, in New York.

 

Dennis will be remembered by his family and friends for the memories he created and the time he shared with those he loved. He enjoyed camping, fishing, and watching NASCAR—especially cheering on his favorite driver with a heartfelt, “GO DALE!” Most of all, Dennis cherished spending time with his family and grandchildren.

 

Dennis is survived by his mother, Tonnina Colby; his brother, Jeffrey Colby (Anita); his daughter, Desiree Seay (Charles); his grandchildren, Kaylynn, Raelynn, Chad, Kellen, Kade; and his nieces, Tess Mueller (Coleman), Amber Smith (Brian), and Amanda Benefiel (Chris). He is also survived by the children and grandchildren of his longtime fiancée, Joyce Gray, whom Dennis loved and considered family.

 

He was preceded in death by his father, Dennis Michael Colby Sr.; his former wife and the mother of his daughter, Virginia Colby; and his grandmother and longtime fiancée, Joyce Gray.

 

Dennis will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the opportunity to know and love him. His memory will live on through the stories, laughter, and countless memories shared with those closest to him.

And now, Dennis, you’re back with Joyce and Virginia. Joyce can make you behave, and Virginia can cook a great meal for you all. 

 

Y’all don’t have too much fun up there without us down here. We’ll see you when we see you.

 

A celebration of Dennis’s life will be held in Spring 2027 to honor and remember him. More details will be shared closer to the date.
