Richard Edwin “Dickie” Wilson

WILSON, Richard Edwin “DICKIE”, 81, of Richmond, VA., died peacefully with his family surrounding him on Thursday, May 8, 2025. Dickie was born on February 5, 1944. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Sandra, his mother Margaret Lotsey, his brother Joe Henry Wilson III & his step-father Albert Lotsey. 

On December 4, 1965, he married the love of his life, Sandra Kelly. He is survived by his son, Richard Wilson & his daughter-in-law Gail, his daughter, Kelly Pardue & his son-in-law Stephen, his three grandsons, Austin, Dalton and Trevor and his cousin Sam “Piggy” Howard Jr. 

In later years he found love and companionship with Lela Richmond who brought him great joy and a sense of comfort. Dickie deeply loved his family & friends. He dedicated over 30 years of service before retiring from Philip Morris. He enjoyed playing cards & golf and was an avid fan of wrestling and Nascar. One of his greatest joys was his undeniable bond with his 2 dogs Bella and Bentley, who bought him comfort, loyalty and unconditional love. Dickie was also an active member of Mount Vernon Baptist Church. 

Dickie will be fondly remembered by family and friends as a loving father and husband, a papa full of laughter and kindness, a devoted and loyal friend, a hardworking man, an expert bridge and rummy player and a jokester who never met a stranger.

 

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, June 1, 2025, at Lakewood Retirement Community in the Simms Center at 1:30pm. Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance, share stories and honor the incredible legacy Dickie leaves behind.
 

A reception will follow the service with light refreshments at: Lakewood Retirement Community, Simms Center, 1900 Lauderdale Dr., Richmond, VA 23238
