Robert Lee Higgins (87) of Chesterfield and Cumberland County joined his loved ones in Heaven on May 12, 2025.

Robert was born on December 29,1937 in Eden, NC to the late Elmira and Willard Higgins.

 

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Donna, brothers Mickey and David, and sisters Ruby and Kathleen.

 

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Jackie, his children Bobby (Sandy), Laura (Mike) and Will (Courtney); his grandchildren Tim, Jacob, Luke, Cole, Henry, Peyton and Parker; his great grandchildren Aiden, Austin, Nolan, Nora and Hunter; his sisters Alene and Carolyn and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

 

Robert had a richly lived life of service and kindness.

 

He was a retired City of Richmond Police Officer with 35 years of service.

 

He knew a lot about so many things in life; you would always want to hear his thoughts and advice.

 

He had a deep passion for the outdoors, hunting, fishing, farming and baseball.

 

In his memory take a kid fishing, go to a baseball game or plant a garden.

 

A celebration of life will be planned at a later date.
