Ashton Raymond “Ray” Askew

In loving memory of Ashton Raymond ‘Ray’ Askew, 76, who passed away May 17, 2026.  He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Mildred Marion ‘Boots’ Askew.  Ray was also preceded in death by his parents, William and Lucy Askew and many other relatives and friends. 

Surviving Ray is his brother, William ‘Joe’ Askew; loving daughter, Nellie (Kenny) and step-children, Scott (Brenda), Helen, Rodney, Jimmy (Mandy) and Lynn; grandchildren, Destiny, Tommy, Trish, Tabitha, Robert, Samantha, Justin, Mark, Sierra, Michael, James, Adrienne, Ray, Bobbie and Connie; and 30 great-grandkids.  Ray loved his big family.

A celebration of Ray’s life will be held June 20, 2026, at 11:30 a.m. at the Ashland Church of God, 407 Myrtle Street, Ashland, VA.  A fellowship with the family follows.  Please bring a side dish if you are so inclined.  Ray’s family appreciates your expressions of love at this very hard time.
