Byron Walker
Byron Walker
January 12, 1956 – July 14, 2025
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Byron Walker, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Byron was born on January 12, 1956, in Richmond, Virginia. He was educated in Richmond Public Schools and graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School. He went on to attend Richmond Technical Center, where he majored in silk screen printing—paving the way for a long and respected career in the printing industry.
Byron worked for several printing companies throughout his life and served as a supervisor at College House for over 15 years, where he was known for his leadership, dedication, and work ethic. After the company closed, he continued serving his community as a janitor at Reveille United Methodist Church. There, he proudly referred to himself as a “Janitor for Jesus,” a role he held with humility and pride until his retirement in 2022.
Byron passed away on July 14, 2025, the same date his beloved son, Byrant Walker, passed two years earlier. In a moment both heartbreaking and full of peace, we find comfort in believing that Bryant came to take his dad home.
Byron is survived by his loving wife, Mahalia “Missy” Walker; his daughter, Amani Walker; and his cherished granddaughter, Maleah Walker. He also leaves behind a host of extended family and devoted friends who will remember him for his kindness, humor, and quiet strength.
A passionate and lifelong Pittsburgh Steelers fan—Go Steelers!—Byron’s love for family, faith, and football defined his life and touched the hearts of all who knew him. His memory will live on in the love he gave and the lives he impacted.
