Charles Edward Seay, Sr
Charles Edward Seay Sr. “Wyldman” November 4, 1961 – September 12, 2025
Charles Edward Seay Sr., better known to most as “Wyldman,” finally ran out of lives on September 12, 2025. Whether he was hunting, fishing, or just raising a little bit of hell, Charlie lived life on his own terms — loud, proud, and with a cooler never too far away.
He is survived by his sons, Charles (Desiree) and Derek Seay; and his sisters, Wanda (Daniel) Merrick, Linda Richardson, and Teresa Lloyd — who will now have to keep the Wildman legend alive without supervision. He also leaves behind his favorite little partners-in-crime — his grandchildren Chad, Kellen, Kade, Kaylynn, Raelynn, and his fur grandson, Knox— each of whom inherited at least some of his wild streak.
Charles was preceded in death by his mother, Barbara; his father, John; and his brother, John Jr. — who are probably all sitting around a campfire right now, arguing over who caught the biggest fish.
He wasn’t fancy, but he was real — the kind of guy who could fix anything, he had a story for every occasion (most of them barely believable), and never met a stranger he didn’t turn into a friend. He’ll be remembered with laughter, love, and the occasional “Remember when Wyldman…” story that gets funnier every time it’s told.
He will be truly missed — but rest assured, Heaven just got a little rowdier.
Special thanks to the Compassus Bon Secours Hospice team, especially his primary nurse Missy, and a heartfelt thank you to his favorite caretaker, Virginia.
A celebration of life will be held on October 18, 2025, at 1:00 PM at 2397 W River Rd, Aylett, VA 23009.
