Deborah Faith Bedwell

Deborah Faith Bedwell 74, passed away peacefully on January 11, 2026, in Midlothian, Virginia.

 

Born on October 27, 1951, in Beckley West Virginia, Deborah—affectionately known as “Miss Deb” devoted her life to nurturing others, especially children. For over thirty years, she worked as a babysitter, caring for countless children with warmth and joy. Her home was a place of laughter and comfort where every child felt seen and loved.

 

Deborah’s heart belonged to her family. She shared a deep bond with her beloved husband, Tom Bedwell, and took immense pride in raising their sons, David Bedwell (Michele) and Andrew Bedwell (Melissa). Her affection extended beyond her immediate family; she welcomed David and Andy’s friends with open arms, treating them like her own, spoiling them and creating lasting memories for all who entered her home. 

 

She found great joy in being a grandmother to Kiersten Birchmeier, Tyler Bedwell,  Cara Bedwell, Ava Mijo, Ellie Mijo, and her great-granddaughter Elliston Birchmeier. Deborah also cherished the close relationships she held with her siblings: sisters Brenda Barrett (Mark), Sandy Farley, Dreama Farley, Bobbi Caldwell (Danny), Kimmy Sloan (Jeff); and brothers Herbie Farley (Brenda) and JB Farley (Nancy). 

 

Among the many meaningful connections in Deborah’s life were her lifelong friendships with close neighbors and friends but especially her bond with Yvonne Johnson—a bond that spanned more than fifty years filled with treasured memories.

 She was preceded in death by her parents, Kelsey and Emma Farley. 

 

A Memorial Gathering to celebrate Deborah’s life will be held on January 30, 2026 at Passion Community Church located at 4480 Anderson Highway Powhatan, VA 23139. A memorial service will take place from 6:00 PM to 6:30 PM followed by visitation and refreshments with the family from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM. 

 

Deborah’s legacy is one of compassion, devotion, and unwavering love for her family and friends. May her memory bring comfort to those who knew her.
