In Loving Memory of Donald Wayne Chenault

We honor the life and service of Donald Wayne Chenault, who passed away on October 9, 2025, at the age of 71. A proud veteran of the United States Army who served as an CPL/SP4, Donald distinguished himself in the 3rd U.S. Infantry Regiment -The Old Guard, where he exemplified honor as the Commander in Chief President escort, demonstrating discipline, dignity, and quiet strength.  Those who knew him will forever remember his gentle spirit and the peaceful way he moved through the world.

 

Born on December 20, 1953, in Richmond, Virginia, Donald lived a life grounded in integrity and resilience.  He graduated from J.R. Tucker High School Class of 1974, a milestone that began his path toward service and hard work. His years of military service shaped him deeply, instilling a sense of purpose and dedication that remained with him.  He Enjoyed a fulfilling career with Krispy Kreme Donunts, where he retired after many meaningful years.

 

Donald found simple joys that reflected the heart of who he was. He loved playing baseball for the adult league and found deep peace in tending his garden. Whether nurturing plants or watching the seasons shift around him, he cherished the connection that came from working the soil. His garden was more than a hobby, it was a sanctuary, a place where patience and care thrived.

 

A graveside service will be held on Friday, January 23, 2025, at 2:30 p.m. at the National Memorial Cemetery at Quantico. All who wish to attend are welcome.

 

To honor Donald’s memory, the family invites those who feel moved to consider a donation to the Wounded Warrior Program.
