George Frederick Woodson Jr.

George Frederick Woodson Jr., 66, of Chesterfield, VA, passed away unexpectedly on March 1, 2026. He was preceded in death by his parents, George Frederick Woodson Sr. and Dorothy Amiss; his brother, David Lee Woodson; his grandparents, John Hugh Woodson and Lucille Waldrop Woodson; and his beloved dog, Dixie.

He is survived by his children, Marc (Amanda) Simpson, Sarah Woodson, and Amanda Kreutler; his siblings, Debbie (Kenny) King, James (Elizabeth) Amiss, and Patricia (Mark) Edgerton; and his grandchildren, Brenden Dalton, Hunter Woodson, Emma Morris, and Anna Morris. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews, and a wide circle of extended family and friends.

George graduated from Henrico High School in 1977. A devoted fan of the Washington Redskins, he also cheered passionately for the Detroit Tigers and the Boston Celtics. He is fondly remembered as a dedicated baseball coach at Lakeside Youth Little League and for his years coaching girls’ softball and boys’ basketball. George touched countless lives and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

A Celebration of Life will be held on April 25, 2026, at 2:30 p.m. at Lakeside Moose Lodge #1714, located at 1207 Hilliard Rd., Henrico, VA 23228.
