Paul Douglas (PD) Jones Jr

In loving memory of Paul Douglas (PD) Jones Jr. 

 

Who left us far too soon on December 27th, 2025, at the age of 60 years old. 

Born on January 21st, 1965, raised in Rockville, Va., he was the beloved son of Gladys L. Jones (Henley),  who preceded him in death. He is survived by his sister Betty Jo Jones (Garland). 

Adopted at birth, Paul later experienced the emotional and meaningful reunion of his biological brothers Wayne, Darrel, Johnny, and sister Brenda.

Residing in Mechanicsville, Va.,  Paul is survived by his wife Angela Lane Jones, and together they raised three children: Cynthia Depace Tye (Adam), Kaitlyn Jones Kahl (Robert), and Daniel Jones. He was a proud PawPaw to Sawyer, Logan, Madelyn, and Mason, who brought him immense joy. 

For many years, he worked as a truck driver— a career he genuinely loved. Driving was not just his job but a passion and calling. He was known for his strong work ethic, long hours, and commitment to providing for those he loved. Through his life and career, he formed lasting friendships and earned the respect of many. Among those friendships was his long-time friend and driving partner, David Frye, with whom he shared countless miles, memories, and stories on the road. 

He was also a member of the community as a first responder— volunteering as a firefighter with both Ashland and Farrington Fire Department and Ashland Rescue Unit. 

Above all else, he loved his family deeply. He was a provider, a friend, and a man who gave his all to those he cared about. 

He will be deeply missed, forever loved, and always remembered with gratitude for everything he did.

A memorial service will be held at Fairmount Christian Church, 6502 Creighton Rd, Mechanicsville, Va., on Sunday, January 25th, at 2 p.m.
