In Loving Memory of Joan Dale Hayes

 

Joan Dale Hayes (Green), passed away peacefully on August 21, 2025, at the age of 70. Born on March 31, 1955, in the Hamden section of Baltimore, Maryland, Joan spent her childhood there and later attended Western Female High School. Her talent in landscape painting earned her a scholarship, and she continued her artistic journey into jewelry making.

She was a devoted Christian and taught Sunday School at Westend Assembly of God.

 

Joan was the beloved mother of Grant Hayes II of Chesterfield, Virginia and the wife of Grant Hayes Sr. of Texas. She was also a dear sister to Kathy Elburn and Timothy Green, both of Baltimore, Maryland.  Her legacy lives on through her two beloved granddaughters, Mackenzie and Savannah Hayes, who brought her great joy.  She was preceded in death by her mother Anita Gay and father Roy C. Green both of Baltimore.

 

She spent much of her adult life working for an insurance company named Rehab Management which she took a lot of pride in.  Joan was people person who “never met a stranger” and everyone who knew her loved her. 

 

Her services will be held at Richmond Coach and Crematorium on August 28 at 6 p.m. for viewing, followed by a celebration of life.
