John was preceded in death by his parents, John and Lois and his sister, Caroline.

He leaves behind the love of his life, Peggy, his wife of 53 years, along with his children: Diane (Curt), Vaughn (Glynda), Jason (Julie), Michael (Melissa) and Stephen (Kayla). He was a proud and devoted grandfather to Colin, Austin, Dylan, Colby, Anthony, Abby, Hunter, Bridgette, Melanie, Nicole and Reagan, each of whom held a special place in his heart. He is also survived by his loving sister, Bonnie (Arleen), and many nieces and nephews who will miss him dearly.

John dedicated nearly 44 years of his life to his work at DuPont in the Tyvek department, but his life was defined by so much more than his career. He had a true passion for football and spent 23 years on the field as a referee with the CVFOA, forming friendships and memories that lasted a lifetime.

Music was another of John’s great loves. As a founding member of the band Casper, he shared his talent and joy with others, creating moments that will be remembered by all who heard him play.

But above all else, John was a family man. He was the steady presence, the storyteller, the one you could always count on. Whether it was a long in-depth conversation, a shared laugh, or a grandchild climbing into his lap, those were the times he treasured most. His love was constant, his pride in his family unmistakable, and his presence will be deeply missed.
