Leatrice Vernon Croswell Jr
AKA “Vern” departed peacefully on December 6, 2025. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leatrice Croswell Sr. and Marjorie West.
Vern loved fishing and being on the water—those were the moments when he was most at peace. Born and raised in Gloucester, Virginia, he learned that family isn’t always defined by blood. He had many people in his life who cared deeply for him, but for the past 20 years he was especially well cared for by Ralph Scott and Amy Griffin. His best friend, Ralph, preceded him in death in May 2024.
A celebration of life will be held when the weather warms, so that his ashes may be spread in his final resting place.
The family would like to thank everyone who helped care for Vern, with special gratitude to Riverside Walter Reed Hospice Care.
Arrangements are being provided by Richmond Coach and Cremation Services.

Ms Amy griffin deserves all his belongings and money because she so greatly thinks she did a service to this man. How kind is that to self reward. Rip MR. Vern
I hope Amy griffin Scott rides to his grave in her 1of 5 beautiful cars that MR Ralph Scott’s cars. If she chooses to stay the weekend she has a very nice motorcoach. She is such a great person. I truly hope that she doesn’t get left out to dry by the deceased. God rest his soul.
