Robert Steven Maxey Jr. passed away on September 2026. He was born on October 31, 1979.

Robert will be remembered for his love of life, his adventurous spirit, and the simple things that brought him joy. He loved taking long road trips, singing country music at the top of his lungs, swimming, fishing, and drawing. He had a way of finding happiness in the moments shared with the people he loved, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Robert is survived by his wife, Carrie Anne Maxey; his mother, Terrie Maxey; his father, Robert S. Maxey Sr.; his grandmothers, Joanne Gormus (“Granny”) and Carole Kipp (“Maa Maa”); his great-aunt, Jeannine Fair; his aunts and uncles, Karen and David Maxey, Cindy and Sheldon Thompson, and Amy Hayes; and many beloved cousins and extended family members.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Skip Hayes; his paternal grandfather, Bobby Maxey; his maternal step-grandfather, Papa Frank Kipp; his paternal step-grandfather, Trigger Gormus; his aunt and uncle, Pam and Steve Edwards; and his sister, Jayce Maxey.

Robert leaves behind a lifetime of memories that will be cherished by his family and friends. His love of music, the open road, the water, and creativity will remain part of the memories shared by those who loved him.

He will be forever loved, remembered, and missed.
