Shannon Marie Fuller
Shannon Marie Fuller, 51, passed away unexpectedly after a brief illness on December 12, 2025, in Virginia. She was born in New York and raised in Smithville Flats, and was a 1993 graduate of Greene Central School.
She is survived by her son, Kyle Nowalk; her parents, John and Betty Root; her brothers, Ray Root (Jessica) and Wayne Root; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She is also remembered by Nancy Speicher, whom she lovingly called “Mom”; her lifelong friend, Jessica Parker; and her cousin, Kelly Lum, whom she thought of as a sister.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jason Fuller, and her infant daughter, April.
Shannon was a caring and giving person who always put others before herself. She was a foster parent, ran a daycare, and worked in the nursing field as an aide and CNA. Her final role was caring for her husband until his passing.
Shannon loved the outdoors, especially gardening. She lived a simple life and found joy in small things. She loved animals, especially cats and dogs, and leaves behind her four cats—Rascal, Mia, Zeus, and Felix.
In keeping with her wishes, there will be no formal services. She will be cremated and laid to rest with her husband. A celebration of life may be held at a later date. Donations may be made to a local animal shelter, SPCA, or Humane Society in her memory.
