Steven Alexander Dale

Steven Alexander Dale, of Midlothian, Virginia, died at his home on Saturday, January 9, 2021 following a battle with colon cancer. He was 51 years old. Steve was born on February 28, 1969 in Oakville, Ontario Canada. Steve graduated from Meadville Area Senior High School in Meadville, PA in 1987. He was a graduate of Penn State University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology in 1991 and a Master in Business Administration degree in 1999. In 2010, he earned a Master of Science in Management of Information Technology from the University of Virginia.

Following college graduation, Steve held management positions with SunTrust Mortgage and Genworth Financial, and consulting positions with Newbold Advisors, and, most recently, with CapTech Consulting.

Steve was passionate about many things, including sailing in his youth and earning his 3rd degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do, which he enthusiastically practiced alongside his son, Noah. He was also an avid cyclist. Steve loved engaging in in-depth discussions on any topic, and he was known for his great sense of humor. His CapTech colleagues note that intellectual curiosity was one of Steve’s fundamental values. He was known and appreciated as a mentor and coach of the newer team members at the firm. He regularly contributed to the CapTech community through sharing articles and ideas that challenged current thinking while also helping with projects. Most importantly, he was the go-to person for sharing and collaborating and was truly respected by colleagues and clients alike for his kindness and his pursuit of the ideal.

Steve is survived by his wife of 19 years, Caroline Ng Dale, his 17-year-old son Noah Alexander Dale; his father James Alexander Dale of Meadville, PA; his mother Phyllis Ann Dale of Plainfield, IL; his stepmother Sharon Dale of Meadville, PA; brothers Geoffrey W. Dale (Izumi) of Palo Alto, CA, Peter W. Dale (Collette) of Plainfield, Illinois, Elliot M. Dale of Erie, PA; nieces Lauren Dale and Isabelle Dale and nephew Joshua Dale of Plainfield, Illinois.
