William Young Conn (Bill) White, III

William Young Conn (Bill) White, III, 76, of Midlothian, VA, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on Friday, June 13, 2025. Born in Abingdon, VA on January 9, 1949, he was the son of the late W.Y.C. and Kathleen Brown White. 

 

Bill is survived by his wife of 43 years, Katherine (Kathy) Russell White, of Midlothian; son William White and wife Katie Baker of Limestone, TN; daughter, Elizabeth White of Midlothian; grandchildren, Laurel and Holston White of Limestone; sister, Kay Sheftall and husband Ben of Charleston, SC; brother, Jim White of Abingdon; as well as cherished nieces, great nieces and cousins. 

 

Bill attended William King Elementary School and Abingdon High School, graduating from Christchurch School, Christchurch, VA. He attended Emory and Henry College prior to serving in the U.S. Navy from 1970-1974; graduating from Virginia Commonwealth University School of Business in 1976. His career was in Information Systems. 

 

Sustained by his faith, Bill grew up in St.Thomas Episcopal Church, Abingdon; and was a member of the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer, Midlothian. His greatest pleasure was spending time with his immediate and extended family. He enjoyed traveling, genealogy, watching SEC football and all things Star Trek.

 

 A memorial service will be held at the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer, Midlothian, Wednesday, June 25 at 2:00 P.M.; followed by an interment service in the chapel at Knollkreg Park, Abingdon, Friday, June 27 at 2:00 P.M.
